The candidate we seek has experience designing and executing sales and marketing efforts. He/she has negotiated high level partnerships, recruited and trained high performance teams, continually outperformed sales targets and developed and executed marketing campaigns.
He/she is able to perform high-level strategic work and enjoys working in the field and building success one customer at a time.

Duties and Responsibilities
    Executing Company’s vision to become one of the fastest growing health care organizations in the history of East Africa
    Establishing and growing national and regional demand-side partnerships
    Building a high performance sales and marketing organization, primarily consisting of community health workers
    Engaging and managing community organizations
    Managing suppliers, designers, consultants and other marketing resources
    Developing and implementing a clear, innovative and creative marketing and sales strategy
    Establishing a culture that is continually testing new concepts for sales and marketing in a rapid way
    Managing Jacaranda’s online presence and advertising
    Collecting feedback from customers, encouraging them to invite others, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
    Other responsibilities as per the needs of a start-up company

Desired Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a relevant field
    5+ years of management experience in sales, marketing, or business development
    Preference given to experience in marketing services versus products, and marketing to lower income communities
    Preference given to experience in health care, particularly service providers such as hospitals.
    Pharmaceutical sales experience is relevant only if holding a high-level management position.
    Hands-on approach to getting things done
    Strong worth ethic and a sense of urgency in solving problems
    Can manage many tasks with a high level of independence
    Strong computer and office skills. Must be able to design and execute partnership agreements, presentations, proposals, etc.
    Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and Swahili
    Fervent passion for improving the health and well-being of all mothers and children in East Africa
    Loves people. You must be outgoing, friendly and able to relate to people well, including expecting mothers
    Must be a strategic thinker and a person who takes initiative
    Has good contacts and relationships in the healthcare, insurance and government sectors (preferred but not necessary)

Financial Accountant

Main purpose of the job
To provide accurate, meaningful and timely financial information, maintenance of the books of accounts and ensuring integrity on all financial transactions processing chain.

Among others, key accountabilities will include:-
    Circulating monthly closing timetable and making follow up to ensure adherence to deadlines.
    Authorizing journals into the accounting system to enable preparation of monthly accounts.
    Assisting in the preparation of monthly consolidated statement of financial position and statement of cash flows.
    Reviewing general ledger account reconciliations for accuracy and timeliness in their preparation.
    Assisting in the preparation of financial statements for management as well as other stakeholder’s decision making.
    Ensuring all relevant taxes for the Group are filed and paid for on or before due date.
    Establishing, lodging and following up tax refund claims with tax authorities (Kenya and Offshore).
    Analyzing, objecting and resolving tax assessments and inquiries from various Revenue Authorities and other statutory bodies.
    Managing relationships with various revenue authorities (KRA, URA and TRA) on tax matters and ensure full compliance across the SAL network.
    Assisting in reviewing Subsidiaries’ financial reports for correctness and accuracy.
    Balancing-off intercompany ledgers and preparing intercompany reconciliations including a review of all trial balances.
    Preparing dormant subsidiaries financial statements for management decision making.
    Developing, supervising and coaching assigned staff to enhance performance for increased productivity.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
    A Bachelors Degree in Accounting/ Finance or a related business field
    A Certified Public Accountant (CPA(K), / ACCA or equivalent) and be a member of ICPAK
    At least 4 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment preferably a comparable role
    Knowledge of IFRS / IAS and Taxation rules and laws
    Good working knowledge of ERP systems – working knowledge of SAP Version 6.0 will be an added advantage
    A team player with excellent communication skills, Attention to detail, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
    High standards of ethics and values

Site Agents / Civil Engineers - 3 Posts
    The successful candidates will be reporting to the Chief executive Officer.
    Applicants should hold a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Civil / Construction Engineering or equivalent qualification.
    They should be at least 33 years old registered engineers or qualified and have a minimum of 10 years on the job experience in a busy civil engineering (roads) construction environment.
    They should possess good organization, leadership and management abilities and be able to work well with Resident Engineers.
    The candidates should demonstrate proven ability to manage busy construction sites.

Mechanical Engineers / Workshop Managers - 2 Posts
    The successful candidates will be reporting to the Chief executive Officer through the General Manager.
    Applicants should hold a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
    They should be at least 35 years old with a minimum of 10 years on the job experience in a busy construction environment.
    Good working knowledge of repair and maintenance of heavy construction equipment and machinery is mandatory.
    They should have good organizational skills and management abilities.

Civil Engineering Technicians (Roads Foremen) - 4 Posts
    The Company is looking for candidates who hold a minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma or equivalent, in Civil Engineering with emphasis on road construction.
    The candidates should be at least 40 years old also have a minimum of 15 years practical on the job experience in a busy road construction environment.

Electrical Engineering Technician (Power Option) – 2 Posts
    Candidates should hold a minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma or equivalent, in Electrical Engineering (Power Option).
    They should be at least 30 years old with a minimum of 8 years on the job experience.
    Experience with heavy industrial machinery, crushers and asphalt plants, will be an added advantage.

Electrical Engineering Technicians (Auto Option) – 2 Posts.

    Candidates should hold a minimum of an Ordinary National Diploma or equivalent, in Electrical Engineering (Auto Option).
    They should be at least 30 years old with a minimum of 8 years on the job experience.
    Preference will be given to candidates with experience in heavy earthmoving and construction equipment.

Stores Keeper – 1 Post

    Candidates should hold a minimum of O – Level Education and Certificate or Ordinary National Diploma or equivalent, in Stores / Warehousing Management.
    They should be at least 30 years old with a minimum of 5 years on the job experience.
    Experience in the construction industry will be an added advantage.

Purchasing Officer – 1 Post
    Candidates should hold a minimum of O – Level Education and Certificate or Ordinary National Diploma or equivalent, in Purchasing / Warehousing Management.
    They should be at least 30 years old with a minimum of 5 years on the job experience.

Security Officers – 3 Posts.

    Candidates should have minimum of a KCE Certificate (Form Four Education Level) and well trained as Security Officers in the Police or Armed Forces.
