Procurement Officer

Reporting to the Deputy Director/Finance & Administration the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and implementation of the procurement plan, identifying reliable and viable suppliers, recommending appropriate methods and systems that will ensure efficiency in the procurement of goods and services, and ensuring that institutional materials/services are procured in accordance to the Government Procurement Procedures and Guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
Diploma in Procurement or Supply and Purchase Management or related field from a recognized intuition
At least 3 (three) years relevant work experience in a recognized organization
Thorough understanding of public procurement rules and regulations
Excellent interpersonal skills
Computer proficiency
Previous work experience in a training institution will be an added advantage
Human Resource Officer

Reporting to the Deputy Director/Finance & Administration the successful candidate will be responsible for applying Human Resource policies, strategies and practices, formulating and implementing the Human Resource management plan, managing Human Resource data (payroll, records), coordinating staff issues (recruitment, deployment, training, development, performance), and providing Human Resource advice to the Management as and when required.
Minimum Requirements
A Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field from a recognized institution
At least 3 (three) years of relevant professional HR practice in a recognized organization
Demonstrated professional competence in Human Resource Management and handling confidential information

Internal Auditor

Summary of job responsibilities
Reporting to the Director the successful candidate will be responsible for developing Internal Audit Plans, undertaking internal audits, setting up risk committees in the institution, establishing and ensuring management of a risk-register in each department, providing recommendations to the Director and management and following through of all action points with departments until they have been fully addressed.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor degree in commerce or equivalent from a recognized institution OR CPA (K) qualification or other internationally recognized accounting qualification
At least 3 (three) years working experience in Audit, with evidence of internal audit assignments, in a recognized organization

Summary of job responsibilities
Reporting to the Deputy Director/Finance & Administration the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing the Hotel operating team and operating the Hotel profitably while ensuring quality services, guest satisfaction and operational professionalism. The candidate will be expected to ensure excellent standards of guest relations, front office operations, health and safety, housekeeping and food and beverage services.
Minimum Requirements
Degree in catering and hotel management or equivalent from a recognized institution from a recognized institution OR Diploma in catering and hotel management or equivalent from a recognized institution with 6 (six) year experience
Diploma in catering and hotel management from a recognized institution
Must have worked as manager in a hotel, with at least 100 self-contained rooms for at least two (2) years

Summary of job responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Accounts the successful candidate will be responsible for managing petty cash and ensure proper use of institutional funds, receiving and receipting monies received and ensuring that the same is kept in good custody and banked on time, effect payments against duly authorized payment vouchers, collect bank statements and bank balances, maintain up-to-date registers of daily collections and banking summaries, and to summarize and remit all sales documents to the Head of Accounts on daily basis, and process all transactions to the financial accounting software, and attend to audit matters that may be raised.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor degree in commerce or equivalent from a recognized institution
CPA (K) qualification or other internationally recognized accounting qualification
Master’s in Business Administration or equivalent from a recognized institution will be an added advantage
3 years relevant work experience in a recognized organization

Research Officer

Reporting to the Deputy Director/Training the successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the KEMI research department and support service units.
It is expected that the candidate will undertake research, research staff management and research training, as well as research advancement.
Stakeholder liaison and client support will be aspects of this position, as will international collaborations, leading large research projects, and raising research funds.
Minimum Requirements
A Master’s degree in Social sciences or Research or related field from a recognized institution
A PhD in Education Administration will be an added advantage
At least 3 (three) years of relevant experience in research
Demonstrated professional competence in supervising and conducting research projects
A high and sustained publication record in reputable research journals
Good communication report writing skills
Computer proficiency in statistical analytical packages
